DUBAI – Dubai Police have issued a warning over the surge in fake advertisements promising part-time jobs with lucrative salaries.
The alert comes amid Cybersecurity Awareness Month, highlighting the increasing threats faced by social media users and online platform visitors.
Fraudsters are using these ads to lure unsuspecting individuals and involve them in illegal activities, including banking and financial crimes.

The Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation stated that these fake ads are designed to exploit victims. Common tactics include opening bank accounts in the victim’s name, transferring funds of unknown origin, or facilitating other fraudulent activities.

Community members are urged to exercise extreme caution when encountering online job offers. Verification of the advertisers is essential before sharing any personal or banking information. Offers requiring money transfers or access to personal accounts should be avoided entirely.
How to report to Dubai Police
Dubai Police encourage immediate reporting of suspicious ads. Individuals can use the eCrime application or call 901 to notify authorities. Quick reporting can prevent further victimisation and reduce the risk of legal complications stemming from fraudulent activities.
